“Slipknot” is a bit of a unicorn in this area, combining the best of some different vibes into a cohesive Catskills lifestyle. Pretty stonework leads from the parking area to the gracious covered front porch and entrance. Inside, bluestone flooring is a thoughtful choice and can handle wet footwear traipsing to the two sets of closets nearby, without worry. (The laundry room and powder room are also down that side hall.) The pleasingly wide staircase is front and center, and to the left, the spacious living room and its brick fireplace. You can see from the current furniture configuration that it can accommodate a lot of people comfortably. On the other side of the house a sizable dining room (with large storage double storage closet) flows into the really pleasing chef’s kitchen. A six-burner Bertazzoni range, wine fridge and farmhouse sink are connected by lots of counter space, and punctuated with a pale blue SMEG refrigerator. The vaulted ceiling, white cabinets and black painted floors (throughout the first level) all feel very in tune with today’s style. And because everyone values their time outside when the temps allow, it’s fitting that French doors open from the kitchen into the roomy screened porch for an al fresco meal, or simply your morning coffee. That room is an important extension of the kitchen for a chunk of the year.

Heading up the staircase it feels perhaps a bit grand, its width wider than standard. There are two guest bedrooms up here, and they share a bathroom with a double Kohler sink and soaking tub / shower. Then there is the master suite, an understated combination of generously proportioned bedroom, with luxe bathroom fixtures (those marble top hotel sinks!) and tiled shower with built-in seat. A glass door leads out to a large private deck with three-sided views.

The deep covered porch that runs the length of the back of the house is not just great-looking, it creates a whole world of additional hang-out spots during the warmer months. This sweeping porch looks down over the property and the pretty heated pool in summer. A Catskills must-have, there is a very cool fire pit out back as well.

The driveway is long enough for the property to be set privately on its over twelve-and-a-half-plus acres (there are two lots), but not too long to be considered remote. There are ample lawns surrounding the house and sloping gently to the fenced pool area, with substantial woods beyond. Cable internet provides the high speed quality and reliability for today’s remote school and work needs. And the house is just five minutes to the Delaware River and the River Market, and ten minutes to Peck’s supermarket in Eldred.
