Deerfield offers a wonderfully peaceful setting and idyllic farmhouse living with its rocking chair porch, open fields and large red barn out back. Set on a dead end, back country road, tranquility reigns.

An open and airy space currently serving as a dedicated dining room sets the tone upon entry. Throw open the French doors to the covered porch and let the scent from the stand of lilacs out front waft in. The owners have logged many happy hours sharing conversation and meals over the long table out on the porch.

Around the corner the all-white kitchen has plenty of counter space and storage, and a gas stove. An enclosed mud room off this space is super handy for stowing your gear, and opens to the back of the house.

Along a brief hallway is a full bathroom with tub/shower, and then the space opens to what had been two rooms, now largely open to one another, enhanced by numerous windows throughout. An easy access laundry room and slop sink is tucked away in a next room.

Upstairs are 3 spacious bedrooms, and a second full bathroom (tub/shower). The master had also been two rooms, and the large “alcove” off the main space currently includes bunk beds.

There is a huge expanse of open lawn bordered by trees in the backyard, with the focal point being the wonderful red barn. Segments of roof and wall have been sided in transparent material so the interior, which is very basic but exciting, is bathed in natural light. The 1,400 square foot building has electricity and endless potential.

There is a deck and a large wood table under the welcome shade of a tall pine tree behind the house, offering another hangout spot for gathering and entertaining in the summer months.

The owners have rented this property as a short-term rental, and we have those figures available upon request.

Narrowsburg has long been a destination town, what with its array of shops and top notch eateries, set there on the Delaware River, about 15 minutes’ drive. And if skiing is your jam, a scenic road leads to Ski Big Bear Mountain, which is about 25 minutes away.
