Head back into the house via either set of sliding glass doors, and the Great Room welcomes with a well-appointed kitchen, featuring a handy center island making meal prep a pleasure. And with the Jeffersonville Farmers’ Market just down the road, using local ingredients enhances the whole Catskills experience.

The vaulted ceiling, generous windows and glass doors, and upper clerestory windows enhance the modern vibe and bathe the space in natural light. A wood stove with sleek design provides a cozy ambience in winter.

The layout of East Hill Hideaway is terrific for entertaining or for the family to gather, as the bedrooms are nicely separated from the public space. The primary suite is down the hall and around the corner for optimal privacy. Its modern bathroom features a sculptural soaking tub, while the shower is accented with classic white subway tile and black fixtures. The bedroom has two handy closets, with a generous run of additional storage along the hallway.

The two guest bedrooms also have vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows, and share a bathroom closer to the living room, which features a tub and separate shower.

The sprawling deck runs along the rear of the house and is a delightfully sunny spot by day, convenient dining/hang out spot by night. And who could forget the quintessential fire pit down by the woods. At once easy to reach from the house, but a world away when the fire crackles sending sparks up to the star-filled night sky.

There is an unfinished basement, really useful for storage, accessible via an exterior door on the far side of the house.

It’s an easy five mile drive into Jeffersonville, where you can choose from a wide and tempting selection of cheeses and other gourmet goodies from Sullivan Sundries, kick off your day with a great cup o’ Joe at Bloom Coffee, or scratch that retail itch at possibly the most fun shop in Sullivan Co., R52 Home. And for your confectionary urges, there is, of course, the Jeffersonville Bake Shop. Livingston Manor is 13 minutes away and Callicoon 20.
