About The Property

This uber-charming 3 bed/1.5 bath Cape Cod with a 2 bed/1 bath guest cottage was built in 1950 by a local stonemason. Bluestone was gathered from the property and assembled into a one-of-a-kind mosaic facade. The result is a timeless and totally original home.

The inviting front porch is perfect sitting and watching the world go by – but this is a very quiet country road so don’t expect to see much activity. Entering the red door into the foyer, it is immediately clear that the house has a great use of space. The deep, grand living room has a wood stove that can heat the whole home. There is loads of room to easily accommodate living and dining areas. South facing windows bring in light.

The kitchen has an open vibe, with windows and a skylight bringing in light. There is ample storage and a farm sink. The bathrooms, one full and one half, are just off the kitchen. The full bath is bright and great place to soak.

The 5 acre lot has beautiful views over the neighboring farm and mature trees. Though you wouldn’t know it right now, there are tons of perennials, irises, peonies, and daffodils, all dormant waiting for the first signs of spring. The vegetable garden has been prolific and is protected from being a buffet for the local wildlife.

The location is very central. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is 3.5 miles away. Jeffersonville is 11 minutes drive, which has a grocery store, a great bakery, and a new boutique shops. Both Callicoon and Livingston Manor are 20 minutes drive.
